The green flag has dropped on the NASCAR litter and the pups are off to, or making their way, to their new homes. All except Miss Red who is staying right here and is known as Camber - Audeo Rio's Full Tilt. Here they are, in no particular order: Here is Miss Purple, now Indy - Audeo Rio's Speed Demon who has headed off to Quebec to live with Sheila and Michael. Indy will be doing lots of agility and obedience and keeping Sheila on her toes! Miss Pink is now Pacer - Audeo Rio's Emeline Pace Car. Pacer is off to NY with Mary where she'll be very busy doing field, obedience and maybe agility. Mr. Blue has joined the Brown family and is now known as Clutch - Audeo Rio's Pedal to the Metal. Clutch will be doing lots of hunting and maybe some hunt tests. Mr. Black is now Ben - Audeo Rio's Full Speed Ahead and has headed to Perth with Judy. Ben will be doing some field work and obedience. Grip - Audeo Rio's Angle of Attack is the former Mr. Green. Grip is making his way to LA with John where he will be working on his VST in tracking and his MACH in agility. Trek, Audeo Rio's Warp Speed, is off to OH with Ann for a life field with field work and maybe even some obedience. Mr. Orange is now Bourbon - Audeo Rio's Moonshine Runner and is off to Kingston for lots of agility, rally and scentwork with Lilian and Brian. Keith is still working on Finnegan aka Mr. Gold's registered name but he's off to NY for lots of agility and maybe some rally and obedience.

The NASCAR pups have started to head to their forever homes. Will post full pics and updates tomorrow but here are a few fun videos. Thanks to Auntie Deb and Uncle Doug who braved the pen for these videos. They are definitely ready to go! Today was bath day! Of course the fields are wet and muddy no can't proise pristine puppies but we tried!
Such brave good puppies! The countdown to the NASCAR pups going home is on so today was spent mostly doing prep - paperwork, bags, binders etc etc. Of course, the pups still got lots of attention with multiple woods walks and time in adventure land. Thank goodness for it to as the inside pen is much too small now for anything but sleeping, Micha continues to nurse the pups, play with them and teach them lessons about why jumping up in dogs' faces is not a good idea. a direct quote from Bruce as we made the mistake of letting them have free access to the house. They are destroying machines now! My apologies for letting you down on the Blog front but what a crazy few days - temperament test, hearts and eyes, and structural evaluations over the past 3 days. Placement decisions, paperwork, baths still to go. Whew! Here are a few pics and a video of the sight that I see every morning. I'm going to miss it! Today was mostly spent getting ready for the craziness to come - Temperament test, heart and eye exams, and structural evaluations. Lots of making lists, checking lists, and rechecking lists. But in between, the pups had some visitors - very small children under 5!, and some fun with texas rags and Hunt Test pictures. A heads up the the blog addicts - there may not be a post tomorrow night. I will try but temperament test days is usually pretty long and chaotic. Though really, I think everyday is a good day when you're a puppy. They have officially entered their destructive stage, as evidenced by the Adventure Box. NASCAR pups, this is why we can't have nice things! We did our bird tests again today and they are all very birdy pups - which doesn't surprise me given the parents. Rampaging continues! Today was health check day for the NASCAR pups along with vaccines and microchips. Happy to report that all are in excellent health, all heave testicles that should, and no heart murmurs were found. Of course, will double check this with the cardiologist but if a regular vet can't hear one, any found by the cardiologist are likely to be innocent puppy murmurs. Our vet suggested that they might be tired after their vaccines and to try and keep them quiet. Ha ha! I wish! I did skip their lunch time adventure walk and played soothing classical music all afternoon for them but by this evening, they were back in fine form. And we learned to dig! and to carry our bowls! And they are well into their destructive period. Have fun NASCAR pup owners! It also looks like John is taking 3 pups home to LA so you may have to work a deal with him! Today the NASCAR pups visited a local long term care home. I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of these pups. The activity room was *packed* with wheelchairs, walkers, canes, people of all ages, sexes, and health status - some quite ill and non verbal and the pups handled it all in stride - racing and playing tug with each other amongst the walkers and wheelchairs, snuggling and being quite gentle when held for a resident to pet or sit in their lap if they were strong enough to hold the pup. They were periodically taken by PSWs one by one to those residents' rooms who really wanted to see the pups but weren't well enough to come in person. What a lovely group of puppies. They had a blast and they definitely brought some joy today. As they always say in the local paper, "a good time was had by all". Then, live pigeons this afternoon. Yeehaw! We did some more individual training with the NASCAR pups today and took them one at a time back to Peavey Mart. Once again they had a new pen set up, we did some tracking games, changed up their collars, did some nails and of course lots of adventure walks. I love watching Micha play with them now. She really seems to be enjoying them. |
