It's hard to believe that Dice has turned 9. It seems like just yesterday that I brought him home from New York. - cute as a button, cocky, and confident , but sweet as can be. He has taken me on an incredible performance journey. He is an incredibly talented field dog and was odten referred to as "the golden who runs like a lab". A backhanded compliment to be sure but pretty high praise. He was one of , if not the youngest golden Grand Master Hunters at the time, and the first and still the only GMH/GMOTCH dog in Canada. He doesn't run quite as hard today as he did at 3 and the bad shoulder injury he suffered at two is starting to catch up to him, but he's still an incredibly talented field dog and still amazes me with his ability to come up with marks and hold his line. Trust me, I am not that good of a trainer so he is clearly bringing a lot of talent to the partnership! I found this old video the other day. I've always said that Dice wasn't that great of an obedience dog but I forgot how well his could heel!
