About the breeding:
The pedigree is an exciting blend of some of the great field and performance competitors and top producers of performance and show Goldens in the breed's history. I am excited to bring some of these classic dogs forward again.
We expect that this pairing will produce healthy, good-looking, fast, focused, biddable puppies, willing and eager to do whatever their owners decide to do with them…but they will need a job! The pups will be confident, moderate to high drive, moderate to high-energy dogs with good biddability, intelligence and a good off-switch. Looks-wise, we should get attractive, well-built dogs that can withstand the rigours of training and competition.
Health-wise, there is excellent longevity behind both dogs. I hope that by going to an older dog with an older pedigree that we will
also minimize the risk of a number of the health issues currently affecting goldens today, including pigmentary uveitis. Both Chase and Bonny are very healthy dogs with no skin issues, allergies or GI tract issues – “easy-keepers” as they used to be known. Chase was OFA Good with normal eyes and heart. Because of the time at which Chase lived, elbow clearances were not being done although his owner saw no evidence of any issues. We will sending samples from Chase in for genetic testing (ICT, PRA, PRCD) at the time of the breeding.

Chase was a well built, athletic boy, with an easy-care but slightly wavy coat. He has excellent substance, correct angulation, and a handsome, masculine head.
He was an easy, easy dog to train who was full of natural talent - one of those special, highly trainable and biddable dogs who just "did it", despite having a very inexperienced handler.
He had a rock solid temperament with people and dogs of all sexes, sizes, and ages. Full of confidence, nothing bothered him.
He was a natural hunting dog, both upland and waterfowl. He was never force fetched, he just picked up the birds the first time he saw them. He had no water issues and was extremely confident on water with a flashy water entry.

Bonny is a high drive, biddable, focused girl who loves to work!
She is a spectacular obedience dog – an exciting combination of flash and precision. In just 6 trial weekends, she went from CD to MOTCh, earning HITS every weekend that she showed. In 2013 alone, she earned her CD CDX UD/OTCh OTCHX MOTCh GRCC VCI VCX VHOF OHOF and her AKC CD. In 2014, she earned her AKC CDX and started to accumulate GMOTCh legs, earning 6 before taking a break in April to get back to field training. After taking a break to whelp the Road Litter, she started back in obedience in February 2015 and earned a GMOTCh leg her first weekend out with a 199.5 and HIT from Open and 198.5 from Utility. She earned her remaiming legs on the next two weekends to become the first female CH/GMOTCH golden and only the 5th Ch/GMOTCH in the breed. To date, she has earned over 20 HITs as well as a perfect 200 from Open B. While a great obedience dog, her real love is field! This dog lives to retrieve! Give her a flyer and she's in heaven. For all her drive, she is amazingly calm and steady on the line but is a fast, hard running girl once released, with a spectacular water entry. She easily earned her GRCA and CKC Working Certificate titles and her AKC JH and then went straight to Master, earning three AKC MH passes in her first season out. Unfortunately, the Road Litter interfered with our trialing in 2014 but she came back harder than ever to finish her MH title in 2015. And to top it all off, she's pretty too! She is a strong, athletic girl but also extremely feminine. She quickly finished her CKC CH with a BOB win from the classes. She stands 22 inches and weighs a muscular 60 pounds. She has a lovely body, pleasing head, and good eye colour. Her tail set and carriage are correct, and she has a solid, level topline. She carries ample correct coat that resists matting and burrs and dries very quickly. Titles aside, she’s a delightful dog to own and train – always game for any activity going - with a great sense of humour and a playful, engaging attitude. She has a joyful demeanour and can make a game of pretty much anything. This is a dog that loves life! She’s an easy dog to live with and has a wonderful on/off switch – perfectly happy to go from running 250 yard marks to snuggling on the couch.
