Today was picture day for the pups! We got some really great shots of the Roadies in a very cool old red pickup. I'll post a sample soon.
Amazingly, there were very well behaved! Perhaps the huge walk we went on this morning had something to do with it???

Today was the final day of their evaluations and now we start the placement process for the Roadies. I can't begin to thank Gayle Watkins and Lise Pratt of Avidog International (www.avidog.com) for their guidance and expertise through this process. PLEASE check out Avidog if you haven't before. What a gift to the dog community!
Tomorrow we head out to do some litter pictures. This should be interesting! Temperament Testing all wrapped up. Thanks to Deb Brunner Walker for the use of her house. All the pups did great and every one showed us a bit of new information about themselves! Thanks again to Gayle for doing such a great job and crawling around on the ground for two days. Temperament testing 12 puppies is not for the faint of heart!
Tomorrow the structural evaluations and then on Monday the heart and eyes are checked. And then we need to start matching up pups with homes. So many decisions to make, but right now we are tired and even the pups have crashed (we got smart and took them for an hour long walk after the testing, but before we drove home: and then we put them in the barn for Adventure Play Land for a few hours!). Night all! Temperament test Day One is in the bag: puppies did fabulously! We are so incredibly lucky to have the expertise of Avidog (Gayle and Lise) and Pat here to provide their insights. My suspicions were confirmed: I could keep them all. Until I realized what happens when these babies don't get a walk three times a day...see results below. Looking forward to another great day tomorrow. Today was a gorgeous fall day, so the Roadsters spent the better part of the afternoon lounging out in the sun and playing in the grass. Chris Marinelli came back and was able to get some more one-on-one grooming and training in with the puppies. Tonight everyone started to arrive for the temperament tests, so the next two days will be very, very busy!
Today marks the start of a very busy time for us and the Roadsters! We temperament test the babies, this week, evaluate them structurally, and see how birdy they are. All of which will hep us determine where they will best fit. Plus, they'll get a ton of new visitors - many of whom will be taking one of these lucky pups home with them in a short while from now.
So, a short post tonight as we - and the babies - rest up for the busy days ahead! 'Night all! (These pics courtesy of Deb Brunner-Walker) Today's was the Road Litter's Puppy Walk! What a lovely day we had - good weather, great company and wonderful food and beverages! Thank you to everyone who came!
We sarted the day with lots of puppy visitng before setting out on a big walk. The pups did great and their "walkers" were spectactcular! I didn't hear a single misplaced "puppy puppy puppy". After we fed the pups (and they got another professional grooming session), we gathered for an awesome lunch! Man, this gang can cook!! Then, some more puppy loving. We walked the pups back, fed them and I am enjoying the blissful silence!! Thanks to everyone for coming to Audeo's first puppy walk and for the lovely day (and equally lovely evening :-) ). It was a cold, damp day today. We got in a decent-length morning walk and they spent lots of time playing in the barn. But our afternoon walk back to the house was cut short by cold rain. So, for something different, the pups got to chew on dehydrated duck-feet. Those were pretty darn popular and bought us some quiet time! We didn't take many photos today but here are a few, as well as a short video. A very short post today as the days get busier and busier. Here are a few shots our the Roadies playing outside the barn - one of their favourite spots. Lots of dirt to dig in, vines to chew, ledges to climb on, and squirrels to smell. Puppy heaven!
